History

Melisa Boross Konderik started her career over 17 years ago as an Associate Attorney in lower Manhattan at Lefkowicz & Gottfried LLP. She eventually made her way back home to Miami and became a Real Estate Associate Attorney at the international law firm of Duane Morris LLP. During her tenure at Duane Morris LLP, she counseled public and private home builders, developers and REITs. She fostered exceptional working relationships with her clients General Counsel, in-house legal teams and c-level executives. These relationships lead her to becoming the Vice President and Associate General Counsel of the public homebuilder AV Homes Inc., for 12 years. In 2018 Taylor Morrison, Inc. (NYSE: TMHC) acquired AV Homes Inc., in a large-scale public to public merger/acquisition. Melisa continued with Taylor Morrison as VP & ACG post-acquisition where she oversaw the transition and business integration of all real estate matters following the merger with AV Homes, Inc. This organically led her to the decision to start her own practice, Landor Law, PLLC.

While serving as the Vice President and Associate General Counsel of AV Homes, Inc. (NYSE: AVHI), formerly known as Avatar Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: AVTR) from March 2007 to October 2018, Melisa supported the operational growth of the home builder to nearly $1 billion in annual revenue.  Over the same period, AV Homes grew their total deliveries over 5x, reaching more than 2,500 in 2018. During her 12-year tenure as in-house counsel for a public home builder, Melisa was actively involved in all facets of the Legal Department including general corporate governance, merger & acquisitions, due diligence support for institutional financing, litigation, IP/trademark, marketing, human resources and complex real estate transactions. 

With her vast in-house counsel experience and multi-faceted areas of expertise, together with her practical knowledge of day-to-day business operations she was naturally led to create a firm that was nimble and customizable for each and every client.
